The Memorial Markettes’ Junior Varsity team, the Minikettes, received a Judges’ Award and Single Division I trophy for their outstanding Pom routine.
The Memorial Markettes competed in the “Large School” category for team, officer, solo, and duet awards. There were 23 soloists in the Large School category. Memorial sophomore Samantha Scioneaux received the First Runner-up award in the Solo competition. There were 10 duets in the Large School category. Memorial dancers received two Duets trophies – Duet Best in Class Winners: Samantha Scioneaux and Patricia Perrin; and Duet Best in Class 2nd Runners-up: Kate Owen and Shelby Schumacher.
The contest featured 14 high school varsity dance teams competing in four categories based on team size, including Caldwell, Nimitz, Shoemaker, Elkins, Westside, Cypress Springs, Clear Brook, Klein Collins, Clear Springs, J. Frank Dobie, and Mayde Creek, and Memorial high schools, plus the Morton Ranch JV dance team.
