The Memorial Markettes is a self-supporting, not-for-profit organization. With the exception of the team directors, who are generously provided by the Spring Branch Independent School District, all operating expenses are the responsibility of the team, its individual members, and the Markettes Booster Club. The Markettes are grateful to our sponsors and underwriters who help cover some of our annual expenses.
These expenses include:
- All performance and practice uniforms and equipment
- All expenses to register and attend district and regional dance competitions
- All expenses for the annual Spring Show, including props, costumes, lighting, videography and photography, music, ticket sales, program, flowers, refreshments, publicity, etc.
- Supplemental professional choreography expenses for pep rallies, field routines, competition and spring show performances
- Annual individual recognition awards and scholarships for outstanding achievement
Fundraising during the year includes producing and selling the school calendar, creating and pre-selling mums and garters for Memorial High School’s annual homecoming game, selling school spirit merchandise at open house and athletic events, holding two junior drill team clinics for girls in grades K-5, and selling tickets to the annual spring show. The Memorial Markettes also request some funding from the Memorial High School Booster Club each year.
Individual donations are greatly appreciated by the Markettes to help provide the majority of the funding for all expenses and activities. Please see the Underwriting Letter for more information.
